Going beyond Crystal
Crystal Chandeliers are stunning, and will always be a timeless classic. Throne rooms, Ballrooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, parlors and lobbies of the finest have boasted elaborate crystal chandelier creations. Ever since the 18th century they have been equated with elegance, sophistication and true splendor. There is something fanciful about the millions of sparkles the cut glass infuses into a space.
As magnificent as these chandeliers are, they do not suit everyone’s taste. Contemporary design often calls for something more understated, or less embellished. Sometimes the statement must be bold, but with less bling. Many design styles seek to incorporate elements of nature, such as rocks, feathers, branches, and the like.
Some home owners find that, when they are decorating their homes, they want something unique when it comes to lighting. Lighting plays a key role in setting the mood of a room, it can make elements “pop,” or subdue other elements. The right lighting pulls together the décor and design of the room. Crystal Chandeliers , as well as other styles of chandeliers, can take lighting a step further, making them art, and a tribute to your personal style. Elvis Presley’s Famous Crystal Chandelier
Not many crystal chandeliers make it into the category of famous. Pretty much the only ones we have ever heard about hang in the palaces of royalty, or in posh places like casinos, cathedrals or theaters. Only a few individuals have selected chandeliers that are so magnificent (also known as “pricey”), that we have heard of them.
Naturally, Elvis Presley’s home, Graceland, is one place where you will see one of those impressive crystal chandeliers. It’s made from Italian cut glass intricately designed to stun. The story is that he bought it on an impulsive late night shopping adventure to Memphis’ Belvedere Lighting in 1974. The price tag is also said to be astronomical. But, Elvis was, in his own way, a king, and didn’t do anything halfway. Remember that he even flew to Colorado for a midnight peanut butter and banana sandwich.
Obviously, the midnight shopping sprees or PBJ adventures are not part of most of our lives. But, if it’s a crystal chandelier we’re after, then we do have options. Lots of them. Beautiful, stylish, eye-catching, contemporary, crystal chandeliers to suit any budget and décor style are just a few clicks away.
