LED Bulbs That Will Be Replacing Incandescent Bulbs

Electric crystal chandeliers look very pretty with all those bulbs making the crystals twinkle like stars. Until now the bulbs used in the crystal chandelier were all incandescent bulbs. These types of bulbs have been around ever since they were invented to provide light and they have changed little since that time. Incandescent bulbs do provide good lighting but most of the electricity that they consume is turned into heat this makes them inefficient. With newer technologies developing other forms of bulbs use much lesser electricity to give out the same lighting.

Due to this fact the government has decided to phase out incandescent bulbs. Right now there are two types of bulbs available to replace the incandescent bulb. One are the  Compact fluorescent lamps and the other are LED lamps. Though Compact Fluorescent lamps are more efficient than the incandescent bulbs. They are a bit more expensive but their life is much greater than the incandescent bulb. However  disposing of the used bulbs is hazardous. On the other hand LED bulbs Have the longest life are more efficient than even the compact fluorescent bulbs and do not pose a hazard while disposing. The only drawback of the LED bulbs at this time is that the initial cost of the bulb is very high since this is an emerging technology and it is expected that within a few years they will be more affordable.

So in the near future all those electric crystal chandeliers will dazzle the rooms with newer technology of the LED lamps.

CHRISTMAS DÉCOR AND CHANDELIERS

Christmas is just around the corner and it’s time to get out those decorations and make your home look festive.  Why not change it up and add a few extra decorations this year!  You can make your chandeliers, even elaborate crystal chandeliers, part of your Christmas décor by adding some decorations to enhance the festive mood.

Whether you have plain chandeliers or elegant crystal chandeliers, the possibilities are endless.  Even if you are not decorating a Christmas tree this year, you can still hang some of the ornaments from your chandeliers to create that festive look.  Crystal chandeliers look beautiful decorated with red bows and draped with beads or a garland.  You may want to choose a theme so that the decorations on the crystal chandeliers and in the room flow nicely.  You can also turn plain chandeliers into crystal chandeliers by adding some crystal ornaments or silver bells.

Be mindful of the bulbs in your crystal chandeliers as they get hot and could become a fire hazard.  Hang your decorations below the bulbs or use ornaments that will not catch fire to complete your Christmas décor featuring festive crystal chandeliers perfect for the holiday season.

Choosing The Right Chandelier For Your Dining Room's Style And Decor

If your home has a separate dining room the best type of lighting for this room is a chandelier. However, with so many different styles of chandeliers to choose from how to you pick the right one for your dining rooms décor?

In order to choose the right chandelier for your dining room the first thing you need to do is to consider the style of the room.  If you have an ultra modern décor then choosing from among the modern crystal chandeliers that are available is always a good choice. A crystal chandelier that looks chic and sophisticated which is what most modern decors are trying to achieve.  On the other hand, a country style dining room should have a wood or brass chandelier or one with painted glass while a Victorian dining room needs an ornate crystal chandelier to be in keeping with the rooms character.

Make sure that the chandelier that you choose does fits the size of your room and table as well. If your crystal chandelier is too large it will dwarf your dining room table and make your room look out of balance and if it is too small for the room or the table then you won't get the right kind of ambiance you are looking for.  Your chandelier should never extend to the sides of your table no matter how small your table may be.

Going beyond Crystal
Crystal Chandeliers are stunning, and will always be a timeless classic. Throne rooms, Ballrooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, parlors and lobbies of the finest have boasted elaborate crystal chandelier creations. Ever since the 18th century they have been equated with elegance, sophistication and true splendor. There is something fanciful about the millions of sparkles the cut glass infuses into a space.
As magnificent as these chandeliers are, they do not suit everyone’s taste. Contemporary design often calls for something more understated, or less embellished. Sometimes the statement must be bold, but with less bling. Many design styles seek to incorporate elements of nature, such as rocks, feathers, branches, and the like.
Some home owners find that, when they are decorating their homes, they want something unique when it comes to lighting. Lighting plays a key role in setting the mood of a room, it can make elements “pop,” or subdue other elements. The right lighting pulls together the décor and design of the room. Crystal Chandeliers , as well as other styles of chandeliers, can take lighting a step further, making them art, and a tribute to your personal style. Who Said Chandeliers had to be Crystal?

No one can argue with the fact that crystal chandeliers have been eye catchers for centuries now. Elegant cut and sculpted glass has worked its magic light scattering effect in ballrooms, throne rooms, great halls, and other high society locations. More recently they have found their way into more average homes, bringing their elegance and sparkle into many a family home.
Traditional crystalchandeliers are a true classic, and suit many a home and design. But what about those who want something less traditional, perhaps more contemporary? What is there for those who are interested in a chandelier, but want bolder elements of nature integrated? Contemporary designers are creating elegant, edgy, unique and still classy chandeliers that are ideal for those who want their home’s lighting fixtures to reflect their personal style.
You can find modern chandeliers in just about every color, many of them are infused with pieces of nature such as rocks, feathers, antlers, and other interesting elements. These distinct fixtures are perfect for those who want to go beyond the traditional crystal chandelier. If you want something different when it comes to your home’s lighting, there are many good sources for unique and inspirational lighting.

Elvis Presley’s Famous Crystal Chandelier

Not many crystal chandeliers make it into the category of famous. Pretty much the only ones we have ever heard about hang in the palaces of royalty, or in posh places like casinos, cathedrals or theaters. Only a few individuals have selected chandeliers that are so magnificent (also known as “pricey”), that we have heard of them.
Naturally, Elvis Presley’s home, Graceland, is one place where you will see one of those impressive crystal chandeliers. It’s made from Italian cut glass intricately designed to stun. The story is that he bought it on an impulsive late night shopping adventure to Memphis’ Belvedere Lighting in 1974. The price tag is also said to be astronomical. But, Elvis was, in his own way, a king, and didn’t do anything halfway. Remember that he even flew to Colorado for a midnight peanut butter and banana sandwich.
Obviously, the midnight shopping sprees or PBJ adventures are not part of most of our lives. But, if it’s a crystal chandelier we’re after, then we do have options. Lots of them. Beautiful, stylish, eye-catching, contemporary, crystal chandeliers to suit any budget and décor style are just a few clicks away.
